It has been a unpredictable year for investors with the high volatility in the markets but with inflation down to 3.2%, the stock market has responded positively going into December. The S&P 500 is up 19% ytd and Nasdaq up 38% ytd. All indicators point toward a continuing rally on Wall Street into 2024.
Yet, there is the prolonged suffering of millions in Ukraine from a needless war, the unfortunate plight of residents in Israel and Gaza and the tragedy facing numerous families whose loved ones are still in captivity in the war.
As we celebrate the holidays, let’s set aside worrying about our stock portfolios for a moment and instead, say a prayer to those who have not been as fortunate.
